Weather

If you’ve ever lived on either coast of the United States, you know just how unpredictable the weather can be, but that’s never the case in Roseville. You’ll enjoy hot, dry summers with temperatures ranging into the 90s. Roseville winters are mild with temperatures of around 20 degrees during December and January.

So, when you’re living in the beautiful city of Roseville you can actually plan your year without having to prepare for a snowstorm in late spring – snow in this part of the country is a very rare thing indeed.

Education

There are 42 primary and secondary schools in the Roseville area, providing education opportunities for your children no matter what age they are. The most highly rated schools in the city include Olympus Junior High School, Vencil Brown Elementary School, Catheryn Gates Elementary School, Diamond Creek Elementary School and Stoneridge Elementary School.

If you have older children, they can attend one of the institutions in the Sierra Community College District based in nearby Rocklin. College choices include William Jessup University, Bradman University and the future University of Warwick campus in Roseville.

Several Roseville schools have received awards from the California Department of Education in recognition of the excellent standard of education received by their students.

Employment

The United States is slowly starting to see real economic recovery after the property and banking crisis of 2008, although Roseville didn’t suffer as much as other cities and towns in the region.

Roseville is home to a diverse range of industries, including healthcare, financial services and technology. The major employers in the area include Kaiser Permanents, Hewlett-Packard, Union Pacific Railroad, Adventist Health, Telefunken Semiconductors, Wal-Mart and the Roseville Medical Center.

There are also a multitude of smaller businesses in the area, each of which generates employment and revenue opportunities for the city and its residents. Placer County currently has an unemployment rate of 4.8 percent, which is at least 3 percent lower than the national average.

Recreation

Anyone who loves the great outdoors or simply staying in shape will love everything our city has to offer in terms of recreational amenities. Maidu Regional Park, Royer Park, Diamond Oaks Park and Misty Wood Park are all great places to spend time with your family and friends.

Maidu Park is dog-friendly, but you can also choose from Marco Dog Park and Bear Dog Park if you want to spend some time outside with your four-legged friend.

For the more adventurous, there are lots of great hiking and biking trails nearby, including Minter Ravine Trail, Pleasant Grove Creek Trail, Dry Creek Trail and Dry Creek bike path.

Golf fans are also well catered for thanks to Woodcreek Golf Club, Sierra Pines Golf Course and the Timber Creek Golf Course. During the warmer summer months, you’ll be glad that Lake Tahoe and Folsom Lake are so close by – they are the perfect places to cool off and have some fun.

As you can see, Roseville offers a better quality of life than you can experience in most other cities in the United States. We have a very low crime rate, and the people who live here are genuinely warm and friendly – it’s not an act.

Traffic here on a busy day is about 1/10th of what you would expect in a city made up of urban sprawl. When you combine that with stunning views, beautiful parks, plentiful employment opportunities, and relatively low property prices, we think you’ll understand why we love Roseville as much as we do
